Beyonce Visits Miami Beach……And Changes The Weather
Sat, 04 Oct 2008 00:29:58 PDT
If you thought your ring mattered, you were wrong. Beyonce, or Mrs. Jay-Z if you like, turned the weather from sunny to icy at Miami Beach earlier today.
Nice little story.

So I decided to move, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Eugene, Oregon. I was having a hell of a time figuring out how to get my pet boxer, Maynard, to Eugene. I sold my car back home, and was going to try to fly him out there, but it was far too expensive.
A Night in the Life - Quito, Ecuador

Jump to the full entry & travel map Quito, Ecuador Save money. Take the night bus. Ok then. How bad can 10 hours be? Hmm. We managed to find the correct (of Quitos myriad) terminal in the morning and purchased our $12 tickets for the 250 mile trip to Puerto Lopez. This was fortunate. If we had turned up at 8pm without tickets, we would never have got on the bus. It was full, and our seats at the front. Bags were searched and Lizas beer disallowed. Bodies were searched too by a young woman

Political campaigns bank on an ignorant population...
Fri, 03 Oct 2008 14:04:34 PDT
I have been reading blogs and op-ed pieces for over a year now on various campaign events, tactics, personalities, and - on rare occasion - issues. The latest event – the Vice Presidential debates – of October 2, 2008, has once again lowered my expectations of the US electorate ever ‘getting it’ when it comes to these election contests.
Sci-Fi Sanctuary Makes Leap From Web to TV

A good web series is hard to find. Which is exactly why the parallel universe of Sanctuary -- where Bigfoot moonlights as a butler, tiny children harbor monstrous secrets and Jack the Ripper is a genetically mutated time traveler -- created such a stir online. It's also the reason why, just a few short months after the series debuted on the web in 2007, geek mainstay Sci Fi Channel snapped up the rights to add Sanctuary to its slate of fall television programming. "We created a show that
